Wow, what an absolutely fantastic book. The ending had me so close to tears, it was emotional and gripping and so much more.
From the beginning, I was hooked with the writing style and the whole concept of the cafe, and adored learning more and more about the different characters with the links between them. I also loved the way the book was actually split up, almost written as short stories, but with some common themes and characters woven through.
I did have a little happy scream in the final chapter when Kei went into the future and found Goro working at the cafe, even though she didn’t know who he was (again another touch which I loved, showing the different perspectives of each character even though as the reader we knew this). And I absolutely couldn’t have asked for any more from the ending itself. It was so beautiful and heartbreaking - I loved it.
I am so happy I finally got around to reading this and will be on the hunt for the next two books in the series as soon as I can. Such an easy 5 stars.
