Comet in Moominland by Tove Jansson
5.0
Moomintroll thought how frightened the earth must be feeling with that great ball of fire coming nearer and nearer to her. Then he thought about how much he loved everything; the forest and the sea, the rain and the wind, the sunshine, the grass and the moss, and how impossible it would be to live without them all, and this made him feel very, very sad.
I think The Moomins are the antidote to every bad and blue feeling. Glossy with charm and sharp with Jansson’s wit, it’s impossible not to be endeared by this bizarre, warm world and its delightful characters.
”Must you be so poetic?” said Sniff. “When we were in the valley you only talked about how wonderful other places were.”
“That was different,” said Moomintroll.
“But it’s true,” said Snufkin. “We’re all like that. You must go on a long journey before you can really find out how wonderful home is.”
