Revive Me, Part Two: The Affair by J.L. Seegars
5.0
5/5 Stars
TW: Sexual assault, abuse, death of family member
This is part two to Chris & Mallory's story after part one had us wanting to fight J.L. Seegars. It opens with the death of Mallory's twin, Eric, five years after the breakup of her and Chris. So, we are now towards the time of the first book with Dominic and Sloane. So, we start to tie timeline together and see how these characters got to where we first meet them in Dominic and Sloane's book.
Chris comes back to New Haven once finding out about Eric and we go from there. We find out how everyone reacted to the breakup, what's been going on with the not-so-great marriage of Chris and Giselle (is that her name?). And we also find out the big mystery of the book. Yes, it is a romance book but there's component that makes the interaction in Restore Me (Nic & Sloane) make sense.
Chris & Mallory only has a few days before they have to get back to the reality that Chris did not choose her in Revive Me: Part One. We see this healing that is trying to happen, and it still doesn't work. And once again, we're left on a cliffhanger and even a bigger hatred for Chris's father. At this point, how much is my dawg Chris gonna go through?
Here's to say, I ranted about this book to those who have never read it and was like yep... 5 stars. Once again, JL has to square up with me.
