“My life with Beh was beautiful, transcending everything that set us apart from each other.”

Can we talk about how wonderfully sweet this book and its main character are?? I'm truly in love with this story and I can't believe I had so low expectations about it.



Transcendence is a love story between a cavesman called ehd and a woman who travelled through time to his time called beh (aka Elizabeth) but we don't actually know much about it because the entire book is told from the cavesman's perspective so we can only guess based on what ehd finds weird about beh.

Honestly, the point of view has to be the best thing about this book. I love ehd's personality and how simple the world is for him. Plus, he's extremely adorable and only cares about making beh happy and keeping her safe. Before reading this book, I was wary of it because I don't usually enjoy the "alpha male" trope and I thought this was going to have it but no. Ehd is actually a great human being, that wants to protect beh but wouldn't do anything to cause her pain, at one point he's even ready to let her go if that's what she wants and I truly appreciated that.



Since the story is told from ehd's perspective and he doesn't understand when beh speaks or does something, we don't get to know her very well. Regardless, their love story is epic and I don't think I'll be able to forget it for a long time, especially because those last pages got me in tears. And that's as much as I want to say about this book without spoilers so then you can follow my advice and read it!

Before reading this book you should keep in mind that even though time travel is the only explanation for beh to meet ehd, we get to read almost nothing about that aspect, this book is heavily focused on the romance. I mean, I would still recommend this book to everyone but if you're not into books revolving only on the romance, you do you ❤️.
