Yellow Bird: Oil, Murder, and a Woman's Search for Justice in Indian Country by Sierra Crane Murdoch

5.0

This is one of the best books I've read this year. If you're looking for sensationalism or true crime, move along. It's not about the missing white dude. Part biography, part testament, part history, and with one of the most page-turning, iconoclastic (to use the author's own word) central characters you'll ever read. I found this book layered, thoughtful, well-organized, fair, and utterly fascinating on so many levels.
