Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson
5.0
Everyone in America (scratch that—the WORLD) needs to read this book on the criminal justice system and capital punishment. It was heartbreaking. It made me weep over and over. But it was also beautiful, and it also gave me hope. In a time that feels so fueled by hatred and racism and injustice, it gives me hope to know that there are still Bryan Stevensons out there—good people who will fight it all, even if it sometimes feels like a losing battle.
I’ll probably never get the chance to say it, but if I could say anything to Stevenson, I would say: “Thank you, Mr. Stevenson, for writing this beautiful book. Thank you for all you do in the world, and all the hope you give. Thank you for being a stone catcher for us all.”
And to everyone else, I say go get a copy of this book.
