Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch

Thank god. I thought I'd be stuck with mediocre Amazon Original stories or average thrillers for the rest of the year. All I wanted was something light to get my mind off things and Aaronovitch delivered. I'm not really the target audience since I don't read urban fantasy, but the central ghostly mystery, the various supernatural matters, the light British humor, and the whizzing around the city in locations that were already familiar to me (the Covent Garden Market & Piazza being my latest love) made all the difference.
The descriptions of magic lessons and the practical aspect of magic were of zero interest to me, but hopefully, they'll be incorporated more naturally in the future. I'm also not sure about Grant yet (stop the leering, please), but I definitely want more Nightingale. I'm pretty bad at reading and finishing series, but I look forward to seeing where this goes.
