The Silk House by Kayte Nunn

3.0

There were parts of this book I liked and most of them were set in the 1760s. The modern day sections were really quite bland and one dimensional for me. I was intrigued by the boarding school going co-ed and the drama that could have caused but it was all a bit meh and almost every aspect of the modern day plot fizzled out with no explanation. For example we never got to the bottom of why the Rugby coach didn't like Thea and then suddenly started talking to her completely normally as if he hadn't been icing her and being blatantly hostile to her for weeks. The woman who may or may not be real and the secret club she was in, did that tally to any of the characters from the past? It didn't seem so and yet made no sense if not. The whole witchcraft thing just fizzled out to nothing. Also very convenient to have Thea be an expert in witchcraft but yet seemed to know almost nothing that she hadn't just looked up. What was the deal with the cat?

A whole bunch of unanswered or vaguely answered questions and not a lot of actual story.
