Family Business by Jonathan Sims
dark
mysterious
medium-paced
4.0
A British horror about a woman who joins a family business that cleans up after people have died, Diya is a compelling character drenched in the grief of suddenly losing her best friend and flat mate. Finding comfort in the monotony of the cleaning, things take a dark turn when she starts experiencing visions of the people who died.
This was such an easy read to get into, and although the plot was a little weak towards the end, I really enjoyed the different jobs Diya would get called on. I also really loved Xan, I got her snarky personality so quickly. I understood the ending somewhat, but I admit I wanted something a bit more... more.
