All the Truth That's in Me by Julie Berry

5.0

4.5 stars, rounded up. This book definitely wasn't what I expected but it was beautiful. I think not knowing what to expect helped me have a more open mind. I loved Judith's voice and her strength. And even though I'm a huge fan of romance, I love that it was a secondary element-- the focus was on Judith growing when it seemed like she had given up. I was also very intrigued by the setting-- post-Revolutionary War vibes in a deeply religious small community. I don't think I've read any other books from that era but now I'm much more open to it.
Definitely not your average YA murder mystery.
