Finally caved and decided to see what this one was all about. In all honesty, this could have been a better book if she took the familial and huge age gap aspects out of it and made Tiernan a little older and Jake a family friend.
Once you move past the mess of Jake being her faux uncle and Noah/Kaleb being her faux cousins, (basically the first 60% of the book) the story of her and Kaleb wasn’t all that bad as it felt more like two people in love that were trying to figure things out, especially once you got more of Kaleb’s background and “voice,” albeit, the writing isn’t all that great. Clearly not a literary masterpiece, but not a terrible book either.
Be warned, there is some triggering material in the book: sexual assault, emotional abuse, emotional manipulation, physical violence
