Kingfisher has written an weird gothic speculative horror.  It’s a great tribute to Edgar Allan Poe.  It’s creepy body horror narrative and atmospheric haunted house feeling is a amazing mix.  Kingfisher has created an entire world that is believable, dark and spooky.  With characters that are well developed show real torment and desperation.  Great writing for such a small novel.
