This Winter was a really great little novella to add to the heartstopper universe. As with a lot of Alice Oseman’s books, it dealt with some really difficult but important topics in a sensitive and realistic way, further exploring Charlie’s recovery at an important time of year.

Equally, it had a really cozy and familiar feel to it, with all the usual elements of Christmas Day across different families. I loved the different sections from different character’s perspectives, and finishing off with Oliver was just so cute and perfect. It was a perfect introduction to the upcoming (or already here) festive period and made me remember how much I missed reading about Nick and Charlie.
