This was great!! It was dark, gory, tense, fast paced, and with characters that have amazing chemistry. Byron shows how to write a realistic male-female friendship. I absolutely loved the body horror and all the different monsters. The setting was stunning - a rusty firewatch tower which serves as a radio station. I sincerely hope Byron writes more books. I need to know more about this world, and I want to read about Evelyn and Daniel again. This gives off Annihilation vibes with a hint of The Last of Us vibes.
Graphic: Body horror, Gore, and Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Alcoholism, Animal death, Grief, and Stalking
