Ballet for Martha: Making Appalachian Spring by Jan Greenberg, Sandra Jordan

5.0

"Ballet for Martha" is an absolutely beautiful book. This book would be great younger or older grades depending on context. I would use this in younger grades as a read-aloud or for a character study for older grades. This book follows the story of the making of the famous ballet, "Appalachian Spring" made by dance innovator Martha Spring. The book features the dance creators who were in the minority at the time and how they made history. The illustrations are also incredibly beautiful.
