Beautiful story about love and sacrifice. Sorcha, the seventh child of a lord, has to complete a semi-impossible task to save her six brothers, who were cursed by a sorceress. Part of the task includes the rule that she may not speak until the task is done, and it follows her journey as she tries to free her brothers.

I had thought this book may be boring (since the main character can’t speak, I thought it might be dull and have too many descriptions). I was wrong. This book was engaging, and full of magic and wonderment. The amount of suffering she went through, and the determination to continue regardless of what it cost her, was incredibly moving. There was a slow burn romance that crept up partway through the book, and the struggle between family obligations and burgeoning love was well done. I love this book and I’m so excited to read the next.
