I’m not sure I can forgive Mr Coben for this one… I put it off for a while because I was scared. I love this series and these characters so much - I was worried that this could be the last book in the series and that something very bad might happen. I was right to be scared: I laughed, I cried, I panicked and I thought I might throw up. I don’t even know where to start but I’ll say the obvious: this was an amazing book. It was well written, fast paced and mysterious. It was the perfect thriller. It made me laugh a few times which balanced out all the murders. I really enjoyed the chapters from the killers POV too - it was interesting to see inside their mind. Myron and Win are my favourite ever characters. They’re so much fun to follow and I love their friendship. Myron is a great guy and I believe that he would always try and do the right thing. Win might be a little crazy but I don’t care. He’s funny and smart. All of the side characters were just as well written: Esperanza, Big Cyndi, Teresa, Jeremy…. They’re all distinct and add so much to the story. As for the plot, it was so good. It was mysterious and had a lot of twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. I loved trying to work everything out but ultimately, the reveal did shock me a lot. It really wasn’t something I even considered and I had to think back at what I missed. The ending had my heart in my mouth and I was genuinely crying while reading the last few chapters. I don’t know if we will get another book in this series, but God, I hope we do.
