The Maker-Man of Meryville is a children's fantasy book which takes us to a different place through the magical portal. 

I enjoyed the world and its creatures that were built. I found them unique and loveable. The story itself is interesting, especially how all the elements come together, and the adventure the kids are facing to defeat the evil queen. As a consequence they can save their own miserable city and make the people merry again! 

It's a pleasant read, I'd definitely recommend it!
