The Power of Positive Dog Training by Pat Miller
medium-paced
5.0
Did I learn a lot? No, not really. But this is a really, really solid book on how to train a dog, if you have never had a dog, and your dog is maybe an adult and maybe has some issues and maybe you just want him to lay down when you tell him to and not jump on Grandma. There’s not much here on sports, other than that they’re a good idea for certain high maintenance dogs (hi), or on detailed behavior mod beyond “find a good trainer” (hi again), but that’s not the point. The point is to be step 1 for newbie dog owners, and it’s very good at that.
