Lean, mean, and cooked to perfection. I found Tender is the Flesh to be a captivating and nauseous read. It never felt exploitative or over the top, just utterly real and told with such a beautiful detached manner. This book will disturb, it will undoubtedly be too much for some, but there is meat to chew on here... i found it much closer to a complex meal than the gory fast food i was expecting. i think its time for a lighthearted palate cleanser after that.
