Dinosaurs by Lydia Millet
4.0
I've read a handful of Millet's books and found them (with one exception) to be charming and unsettling. Her prose is consistently good and feels easy but not simple, if that makes sense. It feels well-made. This book was no exception. The main character is a charming oddball -- sort of a naif -- who has a great capacity for good and for being exploited. There's not much in the story that feels especially plausible, but I loved the way Millet told the story. It's short and was a good read, confirming again that Millet is an author to keep paying attention to.
