Maybe You Should Talk to Someone: A Therapist, Her Therapist, and Our Lives Revealed by Lori Gottlieb

emotional informative inspiring reflective medium-paced

5.0

"Maybe You Should Talk to Someone" is the perfect book for someone who is in therapy and has also a lot of interest regarding (clinical) psychology and the 'behind the scenes' of the therapeutic process and practice.
Even though this book is listed as non-fiction, it's so well written that you get the exact experience as if it was fiction.
Lori Gottlieb really mastered the art of expressing the feelings of her patients and telling the stories of their lives by just using words. I don't know if you get what I'm trying to say. I'm very impressed that she's expressing those strong and essential emotions by simple using words!
Over the course of the book, you get to know her and her patients better and better and start to understand why they act as they do and what the underlying issues or conflicts are.

All in all very interesting read!
(side note: I've never highlighted and annotated more quotes in a book than in this one. :)
I feel like I learned a lot about myself and others.)
