The Rarkyn's Fall by Nikky Lee
4.0
More ambitious and longer than the first book; you're in for a ride.
The tone is darker, with a larger focus on the demons and dark magic of this world. Anyone looking for a bit of spooky body horror will be very happy.
There's also a larger focus on the politics of the kingdom, gaining new perspectives and angles to the story.
The heart, and where this story shines, is with the found family that was built in the first book and strengthened here. The bond between our protagonists is precious, entertaining, and fun. Watching them support each other as they grow in this book was a treat.
Thanks to the author for a copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
