I once read this in my youth and loved it! Now upon rereading I still love it! This book still hold a special place in my heart, and always will. It was alway my staff recommendation at work and for good reason too. 
Kristin Cashore doesn’t mess around when it comes to a good story. Her writing keeps you hanging on word by word. It makes you want to eat the whole book in one sitting. Not only that, but the plot twist and every little detail just has a hold on your heart until you’ve finished it. 
I remembered most of the book but forgot all the little details, but when rereading had me gasping, screaming, and crying out loud at my job.

This book truly has everything!
✔️ Strong female characters
✔️ Character development (from more then just one character)
✔️ Strong plot/ storyline 
✔️ Plot twist that had you clutching your pearls
✔️ Romance that had me questioning if this is actually an young adult novel (tasteful 😘🤌)

Overall you can’t go wrong with this series!
