Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
5.0
As I write this down, there are several emotions warring inside me, and I am trying my very hardest to tone them down and to not burst out all of a sudden. Looking back, this was also what I did while I read this book. I controlled myself to not lose control... if that makes any sense.
I stumbled upon this novel while browsing Goodreads. I had to stack up on novels before we leave for the province so I could read, read, and read to my heart's content. So there I was that fateful night, mindlessly searching for books I might like. Naturally, I went to the adventure/fantasy department, and I spotted this little beauty. I proceeded to add it up to my Kindle, but I didn't give it much thought afterwards. It actually got lost in the multitude of books I got! But somehow, after finishing a book, I spotted it amidst the titles in my Kindle. I thought "Meh, I'll read this one next", and after that, I was lost in the world of the Shadowhunters forever.
Cassandra Clare joins my "Most Beloved and Favorite Authors" list. She is right there beside J.K. Rowling and Rick Riordan, drinking tea and eating biscuits, perhaps. I cannot believe how much I fell in love with William Herondale, Theresa Gray, and James Carstairs. How I was torn between frantically sifting through the pages and pacing myself to truly enjoy and absorb everything. How my head is spinning and my heart is soaring for having found a book—a world—as wonderful and captivating as the demon-fighting Nephilims'. Only a GREAT book could elicit such emotions in me, and I thank Ms. Clare for that. And also Goodreads!! It was only after finding Clockwork Angel did I become a believer of this site's slogan: Meet your next favorite book.
