After having middling feelings on the last two volumes and on the tv adaptation, I was so excited to return to the level of emotional comfort I felt after reading Volume One. While I think it does not erase all my issues with Volume Three as a standalone entry into the series, this one also does a good job at addressing some of my concerns that would likely have boosted my rating and feelings on the third entry if I was not reading these in a serialized format.

While I'm still unsure on my feelings on advising youth on how to engage in romantic relationships with other youth who are discovering and treating mental illness, I do think that the support and advice Nick's mom gives is really solid. I was also a little iffy on how much the parents (again, especially Nick's mom) seems to validate the boys' belief of the longevity of their relationship, but this may again be an issue of developing personal philosophy on the topic, and Nick's mom may have the right of it in validating whatever the child's belief is in the moment.

I'm very excited and thankful to be back in a place of joy in the series as we await the final installment.
