This was okay … I wouldn’t go so far as intriguing because one can tell the exact direction it’s going to take from the first chapter.
However, it was still an okay enough read that I finished it and it made my work day almost entertaining.

There were a couple continuity issues I found irritating—a good editor or even an astute beta reader would’ve caught these things

Ultimately, though it was super predictable and lacking in originality.
