I borrowed this from the library and had to return it at 65%, it was well written with greatly developed characters, especially Mungo.  Douglas really explores the lives, issues and emotions of these characters.  It is raw, emotional and has a great atmosphere of unrestrained tension and violence.  However, I don't think I'm going to finish it, the story is just not compelling enough for me at the moment to enjoy/sustain the tension and anticipation of Mungo and his poor depressing treatment.  The book left me feeling depressed and worn ... just not what I'm looking for at the moment.  I may come back to this and change the review in the future.
