I think many people don’t like the first book and then don’t read the rest of the series. But so far, the series is good. The first book wasn’t a masterpiece, though it deserves 5 stars. I think it sets the scene for all of the characters and future books. Having a 17-year-old girl in an asylum? Topped by a man who is obsessed with her? Pretty good. The last thing I’ll say is, it’s not all that it seems.

Just a little something extra. I think the point of Juliette’s character is to give people a view of what it is like to b a female and a teenager. Because the author fits that description of her perfectly. Insecure, unsure, kind, and a little traumatized.
