It the beginning of this book I loathed Aaron; he’s a bully, he’s obsessive, he’s controlling, he’s jealous, and he’ll do literally anything to get his way. But I think that’s what makes this such an enticing & well written story, I went from despising Aaron to loving him. And seeing him with his kids… swoon. Aaron is a new favorite book boyfriend!

There’s a touch of magical realism within this story that I didn’t expect, but it really gave a unique layer to the story that was wonderful. Aaron sees a spirit of a woman named Emma, and she seems to be the only one that can talk sense into Aaron when he’s being stubborn. The use of Emma was also a great way for us to understand what Aaron is thinking/feeling during some of his darker moments.

This is definitely a story that I won’t forget and luckily there are more books in this series to dive into!
