The Matchmaker's Gift by Lynda Cohen Loigman

4.0

Honestly, I didn’t know expect to like this book as much as I did.
A Jewish matchmaker moves to New York as a child with her family and her granddaughter in the future grows up to be a divorce lawyer. These two pov cover the romantic perspective and the realistic anti love perspective.

This is the type of romance I love.

It was realistic, it was sweet, and it was unexplainable. I’ve always believe the best relationships are the ones that just work. When the person you are with is your best friend and it isn’t a battle everyday. I also never expected to find that type of bond with anyone outside of friendship.
This book also personally resonates with me.
I relate so much to Abby, being a child of divorce. It was messy, it was awful , and it really traumatizes your thought of relationships in the future. All of my immediate family is divorced, some multiple times, and it would have been so nice to have a magical matchmaker to help them. It is hard watching people you love hate each other and or settle for a bad relationship.

I also enjoyed the foresight into history and how a Jewish woman and her family integrated into New York.

Overall. Phenomenal read. Highly recommend.
