I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. The character of Vera elicited a whirlwind of mixed emotions; at times, her actions drove me to the brink of frustration, while at other moments, I found myself wanting to envelop her in a comforting hug.
The storyline, though cleverly crafted, strayed into the realm of the unrealistic, and I managed to guess the mystery of the whodunit rather quickly.
Nevertheless, the experience was still thoroughly enjoyable. The cast of characters was beautifully flawed yet ultimately likeable, with little Emma standing out as an absolutely adorable presence. My heart ached for her, especially considering the life she must have had with her father.
I eagerly anticipate diving into more works by this author, as the book provided a delightful escapeāa cosy mystery that is both quick to read and consistently engaging.
