The Steppenwolf by Hermann Hesse

4.0

3.9 ☆ - my fav Hesse so far.
Loved all the insights of the narrator at the beginning, describing the main character's two natures ("man and wolf"), how it expands from there, and then how through the book the protagonist Harry Haller overcomes his inner demons.

I would've liked the ending to be a bit longer, everything felt fast and I feel I didn't catch some things (but maybe that was the idea and is just me)...

Still, Hesse's writing is beautiful and lyrical, and the whole book is filled with so many awesome, rich passages that I could recommend it to anyone.
