Our Souls at Night by Kent Haruf

5.0

Exquisite piece. I think a good piece of literature resonates with you even when you're not in its target demographic. It's a simple story about Addie and Louis. Both of their spouses are deceased, and they embark on a journey together, which Addie's bitter son is not happy about.

The scenes I enjoyed most are with Addie and Louis taking care of Addie's grandson. I loved seeing this second "go" at parenting that seems much simpler than when they themselves were the parent.

I believe a 5 star book changes your perspective, even if slightly, and this one did.
