This was interesting . However, I was very surprised to see that this isn't a debut, because the writing style seems a little, mmm, either unrefined, or like the author was trying something new. Perhaps like a middle grade / YA author wanted to try their hand at literary fiction. It works for the most part but I feel like it would have benefitted from a better editor.

Also Michael Crouch is the GOAT of male audiobook narrators 10/10 listen to it for sure
