The Sherlock Society by James Ponti
4.0
“A journalist and a detective are the same thing. A mystery is nothing more than a story missing its ending.”
I'd like to thank Simon & Schuster for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

Content Warnings: mention of animal death
James Ponti has done it again with an all-new middle-grade series! It was fast-paced, with lots of action and new settings at every turn. The mystery of Al Capone was intriguing to learn about, and I loved following the clues along with the Sherlock Society group. Speaking of the group, I also loved the characters! Each personality shone through in what they brought to the team. The team dynamic was also intriguing, showing that not all friendships are perfect and that communication is key. Plus, Alex and Zoe’s grandfather was great comedic relief in addition to being a role model. We also learned a lot about journalistic research and what it takes to be an investigator. I can’t wait to see what the next book has in store!
