A Trick of the Light by Louise Penny
5.0
This is not the first Chief Inspector Gamache book I've read but it's by far my favorite. A Trick of the Light digs more deeply into Gamache and his teams lives and relationships with each other. Yes, the book is about a murder that must be solved, but it's more than that and that's what made me really enjoy this one. You get kind of attached to these characters and Penny only throws a little bit about them into each book. But this time, she did way more than that. We really get to see more of their story behind their work as detectives and it's good- real good. Lillian Dyson's murder is true to Penny's style. You think you've solved it only you know you haven't. You know that Gamache will reveal the clever twist at the end and once again, it will seem so obvious, yet you never saw it. A Trick of the Light has made me want to continue with this series even though cozy mysteries series can sometimes go on forever and ever. This one is worth keeping up with.
