One of the most unique and interesting books I have ever had the pleasure of reading, this book captured me from the very first page and never let up.

The Spear Cuts Through Water met and exceeded any expectations I had going into it, and nothing could have prepared me for the journey it was about to take me on. I wouldn't even know how to begin to describe this book to someone, it's something you just have to experience for yourself.

I still have so many feelings to parse through, but this may be one of the best books I have ever read in my entire life. The writing is exquisite, the storytelling impeccable. It had everything I love in a fantasy and more. I have read many books in my life, but I have never read a book like this before, and that is such a special feeling to find as a lifelong reader. It's the kind of transformative book we all hope to come across in our reading journeys, the kind of book that makes you fall in love with reading all over again. It feels like Jimenez has created a new way to tell stories with this novel, I really can't describe how unparalleled of a reading experience this was. I wish I could erase my memory and experience this all over again for the first time.
