The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah

Did not finish book.

3.0

I did not finish this book. I couldn't.

There are very few directions a story about the Great Depression can take and this one felt redundant. Oh, here comes a dust storm. Oh no, another dust storm. Loss of jobs one, two, and three. There were simply no highs during this book. I know, there weren't many highs for those living through the depression either.

I will admit that while reading the book, I enjoyed it. Kristin Hannah continues to write well, but the trajectory (or rather repetition of sadness and dispair) of the story stopped me from picking up the book to see the characters' journey through until the end.
