review:

More rom-coms by Australian authors please! This was so much fun!

‘The Wedding Forecast’ follows Anna, who struggles through her best friend’s wedding. Why? Because she’s the bridesmaid and her ex-boyfriend is the groomsman, andddd he’s bringing his new girlfriend, anddddd they all have to share a house. Oh, and he’s also going to drop a massive bombshell!
Anna’s family convince her that she needs to try and form a connection with Patrick, the wedding photographer. He’s nice, he’s cute, and he’s everything that she “should” want. So, why does she feel a bigger spark with Mac, a semi-famous actor from New York and childhood friend of the groom?

I loved this! The characters were fun, interesting, and multifaceted. The plot was enjoyable, and the different storylines were all entertaining!

I had two issues with this novel, which are why I’ve rated it four stars. Firstly, I felt that the ending was rushed. Like, so much happened in the last 5% of the story that I feel could’ve been more fleshed out and fit into the last 10%. Secondly, this book is marketed as a rom-com that takes place at a wedding. While this is somewhat true, the wedding was over by like the first half of the novel and then we read about Anna’s life for the following year(ish?) after the wedding. I mean, this book is called ‘The Wedding Forecast’, even though half of the book has nothing to do with the wedding and instead follows the aftermath. Yes, Anna met the love interest atttt the wedding, so the wedding is an important part of their love story but I wouldn’t say it’s the “main” part.

Overall, this was a lot of fun though! I will definitely read any more adult fiction that Nina Kenwood writes!
