“You learn that your enemies intend to kill you in three months and your response is to invite them to dinner?”
“Nature has a strange way of fighting back.”
“A courtesan without a king is no better than a whore.”
“Can we have this discussion when I am not having a bath?”
I loved this book the first time I read it, and it was just as good the second time around. I even noticed some new details (possibly foreshadowing of the next book?) that I missed during my first read.

I loved the tension and relationship development between the characters. Tahlia remains my favorite, and I can’t wait to learn more about her, and the other characters.
The world-building was well-written and captivating, and I really enjoyed the Middle Eastern vibes throughout the book. The plot kept me hooked, and once again, I couldn’t put the book down. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
