A Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin
5.0
this book was truly dreary, and the lead up to the end was so well-done that i was left nothing short of stunned. i think my favourite chapters had to be those from theon’s pov, unexpectedly enough. i really love how his internal conflict was portrayed, so much more efficiently done than in the show (a comparison i must make by default, as someone who watched the show before the books). i truly felt bad for him at times, despite all that he’d done. my sympathies lay the most with catelyn, though. i’m truly intrigued to learn more of how she navigates this loss and robb’s next courses of action in the war.
i started this book last year and only picked it up where i’d left off (halfway through) a few days ago, so my thoughts are definitely scattered and divided.
