The Symposium by Plato

challenging informative reflective tense

5.0

Can’t say a single bad thing about a classic. Plato’s wise words on tragedy, love, and wisdom captured the essence of life in love perfectly. The debate among gods about what exactly love means/is was very telling of character. Plato presents love as wisdom and says that falling in love with one’s intellect/ character is real love and falling for the body is not, as the body is ever changing and the mind will remain. It is also said that this love (whatever that may look like for you) is not meant for just men and women but also for men and men. I think this could be a very important read for many. Very beautiful.
