Adam Kay does it again. Twas the Nightshift Before Christmas was another hilarious, witty, and emotional collection of stories from Kay’s time working in the NHS over the festive period. I found myself laughing out loud constantly and then brought back down to earth again the moment after, but I loved every minute of reading the book.
Having recently started working in the NHS myself, this book hit home so much more than the first one, although I loved both of them. The struggles, pressures, and patients were so real and recognisable, present even 15 years after he started documenting his time working in hospital.
Overall, this was a wonderful short festive collection and I loved it so much!
