A Hundred Other Girls by Iman Hariri-Kia

5.0

This book felt like catching up with a friend over brunch. I saw so much of myself in Noora and a little in the side characters too. I have had a boss like Loretta. I have dated a guy (or two) like Cal. I rooted for her even when she made mistakes and I laughed with her even when shit was going downhill.

I also absolutely loved all of the representation. We had people from all different backgrounds, cultures, religions, gender identities, sexualities, etc. in ways that didn’t feel forced or awkward. Take notes, world. It really is that easy.

I will say, there were a bit too many references for my own personal taste. Coming from an industry insider, I didn’t totally get some of the lingo or the context. I am so excited to watch this author grow. Lifelong fan made.
