An excellent second book in the trilogy!
Astrid wasn’t really a character that I connected with all that much while I read Delilah Green. I appreciated their conflict in being sisters and trying to reconcile that, but beyond that I just couldn’t connect with Astrid in that book so I was hesitant to read this one. But I definitely shouldn’t have put it off.
I will say this is probably the best romance I’ve read this year, and I’ve read quite a few already!
I fell in love with Astrid and her struggle to get out from under her mother’s scrutiny while she was also learning new things about who she is separate from who her mother wanted her to be. This book did an amazing job of going through that while also detailing Jordan’s personal issues.
I loved Astrid and Jordan together. Their banter at the beginning was perfect and it slowly developed into a relationship rather than feeling forced for the sake of the plot. I also really liked that they both made sure Astrid wanted Jordan rather than to experiment with any woman. I thought that was a really important detail for a woman who is just now realizing her sexuality.
I loved this book just as much as I loved Delilah Green and I can’t wait for Iris Kelly and the final book in the Bright Falls trilogy.
