Finished the year on a super hella good note, not unlike last year… Hey AL, write faster so I can do the same for 2k18 :P

Did not get Provenance for xmas so went off and picked it up from B&N instead, read the whole thing on the flight to Florida, and oh my god.

Ingray. My child. Please.

There’s less emphasis here than in IR on what is a person, but more on families and adulthood and what that looks like, which as someone hitting some major life choices is…Relevant this year. Same amount of focus on gender, i.e. loads, I adore it, I love that even when a culture has more options it’s still not going to work for some people and there will always be some struggle.

And also queerness, a lot of queerness, and this running implication (here and in IR) that you never really have any idea what a character’s genitalia are. Even when someone genders them based on external characteristics, we have 0 reason to believe that their reasons to use those pronouns are the same as ours would be.
