Now Is Not the Time to Panic by Kevin Wilson
2.0
This ending was so disappointing. I felt like the book never went anywhere. It started strong, with an entertaining scene of kids at the pool and a new friendship between Frankie and another teen this one summer in the 90's. The main character, Frankie, developed a weird obsession, and in the present day she's just a hum-drum ordinary person, totally normal. I didn't buy the obsession and I didn't buy the complete change. The end was the worst. I was giving this book 3 stars until the end. It was like Wilson picked the most boring choice he could think of for an ending and went with that.
To be fair, this book suffered in comparison to the previous one I just finished, also out this year [b:Notes on Your Sudden Disappearance|58672976|Notes on Your Sudden Disappearance|Alison Espach|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1648415348l/58672976._SY75_.jpg|91959166], If you want a book with similar themes, depiction of teenage intensity and angst, 1990's Nostalgia, friendship and heart, Espach's is the one I recommend.
