A wonderful combination of fantasy and folklore. It is refreshing to see a fantasy book present fairies exactly as they are traditionally seen: dangerous tricksters with little to no regard for human morality. The magic system is very realistic and perfectly imaginable in a real scenario. The characters and their motivations were not only believable and well-rounded. It may be a long read, but it is definitely worth the time and effort. It is a good introduction to Scottish and English folklore.
