I think this author believes they are being meta, and I think this author believes they have written something that feels purposefully disjointed and at a remove. Instead, this feels both like aping “literature” and like not having control over the narrative

Also, from the Blade Runner quote at jump, this book felt like it had a sci-fi atmosphere, something just vaguely off about it, and I wish it would have done move with that.
